Powder day above the fjords

After our long drive east, we ended up in Eskifjordur for the night, a nice little fishing town lost in the fjords, but we also ended up in a hot pool by the fjord, watching the snow falling in the night... Eskifjordur has a secret, a ski resort!!! The Oddsskarð ski resort has some nice terrain and couloirs accessible directly from this one main drag lift going up to 900m above the fjord. They don't usually run the lift in the morning in the week but the friendly manager of the resort opened the lift just for us, it was quite foggy but we had the good surprise to discover the backside of the resort clear of clouds, you can then ski down to the next valley where a car car can pick you up after driving through a misty 700m tunnel, a tunnel with a giant doors that opens when you get close enough... We took a few laps in the backside riding nice untracked (of course) couloirs straight down to the road. The weather started opening in the front side as well and we could see the fjord waters shining 900m below us. We filmed a couple of nice lines in a north face above the piste and ended our day in the hot pool again, talking about tomorrow plan, the local snowmobile guys are motivated to drag us up the mountain, so we'll see what happens!
