The vikings know how to drive snowmobiles!!!

Our helpful host here in Eskifjordur, Saevar, made a few phone calls to arrange a few snowmobiles and we were ready to go, a superjeep and two snowmobiles on a trailer, the proper icelandic way! We drove to one of the highlands behind the town where there was plenty of snow, we met with other locals on their snowmobiles and set off, 80km/h up the mountains. The views were amazing from the top, all the way down to the ocean and we found some nice short lines to ride, and one couloir with some suprising good powder hidden in it. When we got back to our lodge in Mjoery, the evening light was very special and we decided to go on a sunset skitour to Svartafjall(1030m) with Arnar who just arrived in town. The way up was easy and we noticed a nice and long couloir on the west face. The snow was a bit hard in the entrance but it soon became perfect corn snow and we were able to ride all the way down in one go, with the strange feeling of skiing into the ocean below in the fjord.

We're all arriving to the spot
